Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

For the Love of Fall...

Mmmm... It's officially Fall!

I always have a hard time answering the question, "What is your favorite season?" because I love them all! Many times I will reply that I love the changing of seasons! There is something that stirs within my soul when the seasons change! Especially summer to fall and then later winter to spring!

Sunday I lit my "Spiced Pumpkin" candle for the first time (Thank you Leigh Ann for getting it for me - I LOVE IT!)

It just got me thinking about my favorite things that go with this time of year! One of them is the scents of Autumn!

One of the scents I love is the smell of "fall" outside! Crunchy leaves and the smell of them burning after they have been raked! Mmmm... I also love the beautiful colors and the bright trees and how when I drive down main street and the wind is blowing it's better than fireworks with all the bright colors swirling around the car!!

I also love football (obviously)! The first few games of the season are always so exciting... but it also just seems more "authentic" when the weather turns and there is a chill in the air!!!

I love making a BIG pot of Chili for friends to enjoy! There is something so warming about Chili that just goes with fall and football and friends! I like my chili with Fritos, cheddar cheese, and sour cream! How do you like yours?

I love when Charlie Brown Thanksgiving comes on TV! I watch it every year (along with Charlie Brown Christmas a little later on).

And finally, I like a wardrobe change! I like getting out my favorite outfits for cool/cold weather and shopping for new ones! And I love breaking out my boots!

I honestly just enjoy the change that comes with fall! There is something renewing and refreshing about changing... sports, clothes, colors, smells... I am so glad that Fall is here!

What is your single most favorite thing about fall?

Oh yeah!! It actully IS fall today!! I love it too...I only dislike it because it means winter is coming, and winter up here isn't too fun after five months of 30 below :-)

Oh - and I too like all that stuff on my chili - nummo! Which reminds me - I need to make that!

Oh, and please - don't think I "rock" because I make a variety of food. This is a NEW thing for me too and I feel very inexperienced at it....plus I don't enjoy cooking with two little ones at my heels either. So yeah - you come over! I'll buy and you make. Deal! I can't get over the fact that you said I inspire you....trying not to wet my pants in laughter! :-)

Hey
I yea its fall. Did you see my picture from a few blogs ago? The leaves have changed and are changing here. I only wish so much that I could be home to put out decorations and light my favorite candles, and bake chili and yummies! After this season, I'm going to go all out for every holiday and seasonal change! Can't wait!!! And I look forward to you coming to visit and enjoy a Montana fall and winter with me too!
Thanks for the phone call. I'm not a phone person and I know no one in our fam is either and we're all super busy, but sometimes I start to feel forgotten out here without calls or emails! Miss you!

I think you girls are going to turn me into a Fall lover after all. Reading this post got me all excited about Fall. I am so glad you like your candle. It does definitely smell like Fall. Yum, chili! You definitely like yours like I like mine. Derek would eat chili everyday if I let him. :) I love boots, but since I am 5'12"...hee hee, I only have a few pair because they are hard to find with a lower heel. I would kill myself in those in that picture with that heel, but they sure look good! This weather is driving me crazy. It's chilly in the a.m. and 85 in the afternoons. I'll be glad when it is cool all the time. I never know what to wear!

Fall is definitely such an exciting season! I just hope we actually have a fall unlike some years when it stays warm all the way until winter. I love when its cool enough not to be sweating when you walk around outside but warm enough not to have to wear a jacket. And I was just thinking about making my first pot of chili of the year very soon! Although I still havent found a chili recipe that I just love, care to share yours? And of course football is really my favorite season so I do love fall for that! :) Remember all the good times at Ootie football games with the band and the #1 fan cards and snickerdoodles and taco bell after the games and the dances and.... I could go on and on.. love it!

I think this is one of my favorite post to date :)! You know how much I love Fall, so it is hard to pick just one thing. I LOVED your description about the leaves on Main Street being better than fireworks...so true ;)!

Seeing those boots made me think I need new ones. Perhaps we need to schedule a fall boot shopping day!

the crispness in the air is my favorite thing - and the rustling of the leaves in the trees as the wind blows! LOVE the post!!!

Wow Meagan great post! Fall and Winter are my favorite times of the year. Favorite thing? I would normally had said football which still is a favorite thing, but I think now it is seeing Maddie all bundled up ready to go outside. It is TOO cute! Thanks for the sweet comment. You have given me a great idea for a post. Check back soon.
