Hello 2009,
It's nice to meet you. I have big plans for you and I... change is in the wind! I am hoping to save more and eat less... or at least a little better. This will entail cooking more (which I love anyway) and eating out less (a convenience I am quite fond of). I'd like to actually use the gym membership I pay for monthly... 2008 taught me that you don't get in shape just by writing the check each month, you actually have to go. I'd like to spend more time reading and that should be accomplished with the start of my long anticipated book group. I feel a home make-over (on a tight budget - so small changes) is in need. I intend to find a new church home this year and spend more time in the Word. 2008 spread me pretty thin with so many obligations and functions and with you, 2009, I want to bring everything back into focus. I intend to choose carefully my commitments, weed out the clutter, and choose to do things well and with quality - and that means doing fewer things. I want to make excellent use of each of your seconds, 2009, and so time management will be key. I hope that even with the re-focus this year that you will bring me many surprises, spontaneous moments, and exciting adventures. Teach me some lessons - don't make them too hard, please - and enrich my life in ways that only you were designed to do! I look forward to our time together, 2009, and that time is limited, so let's make the best of it!
Sincerely yours for the next 365 days,
Meagan

I love your letter, Meagan! I could have written it myself. (Very cute!) I will be praying for you in 2009 to accomplish all your goals!! How are you liking the book Small Change? What is it about??
By the way...your new look is AWESOME!!!
Best wishes for a wonderful year!! :) Love you!!
Betsy
What a cool idea, writing that letter! Are you planning to start a book club, or are you joining one?
what great resolutions you have for 2009! I need to adopt some of those myself! happy new year my friend! I hope we get to see each other some this year! :)
What a cool and creative idea ;)! 2008 was great but something tells me 2009 will take the cake. I am so happy that I get to be a part of those moments!!!
Oh - simple/do-able/ and changes that will really make a difference! Way to go girl!! I love that you're so involved in many peoples' lives and projects - and you put your whole heart into them, but it's also nice to slow down a bit and "weed" some things out. :-)
Happy New Year, Meag. Very cute post!
Hey Meagan, I just wanted to let you know (since you're shopping) that First Baptist Church on Main Street where Will and I go is a great church that you should think about trying. We go to a hilarious post collegiate technically singles sunday school class (The other young adult sunday school is extremely baby-centric. Kind of creepily so.) and the contemporary service is good. Our pastor is amazing. You should think about checking it out.
Great New Year's Resolutions, Meagan. I have reading on my list, as well. I read another blog that had an awesome post on reading that you might find interesting:

It says if you read for only 15 minutes a day, that turns out to about 10 books by the end of the year! I'm going to try it--I'll let you know how it goes. Good luck with all your goals! They're awesome and very attainable!
