Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

Filled...

I haven't had too many words for my blog lately. I was filled with concern for Kelly's little (well actually very big, lol) Harper. I was filled with obligations. I was NOT filled with great lesson ideas. and I was NOT filled with post ideas or great words for you all.... just uninspired, if you will. And that's okay, that happens. Mind you, I have had a very enjoyable past few days... just a lot going on and no words to express it.

Today, however, I find myself filled and very much inspired...

I am filled with joy because Harper Brown Stamps was held by her mommy and daddy today!

I am filled with love and admiration for these two ladies! I honestly don't know what I would do without them. They are good for my soul!

I am filled with thankfulness for the sort-of snow day we got yesterday! I spent the entire day with Julie and Chris just having fun... picking flooring out for Chris' house, picking flooring out for Julie's rental, eating out, and then seeing Inkheart (okay, but not great by the way). Just a GOOD day and a nice break.

I am filled with lesson ideas (which is fun for any teacher whose heart is still in it)! I had a great lesson today and I have some fun ideas for my class and for the girl I teach privately!

I am filled. My life is full of blessings and my heart is full of gratitude. I don't deserve the love and blessings that my Lord showers on my life, but I am so overcome with thankfulness for them! I am filled... and it feels wonderful!

Those kinds of days are the best!! When you say your teach students privately...do you mean tutoring? (Just wondering!)

I hope your happy times continue over the weekend!
