Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

Honeymoon...

A week ago today Chris and I were mid-honeymoon!

It was such an AMAZING trip!
We went to the Biltmore House in North Carolina.  We stayed at the Biltmore Inn on the estate and enjoyed an entire weekend being treated like royalty!!

Here is a picture of the Inn that overlooked the winery.

Lavish is the word that comes to mind...

...and check out the view!
We had a king balcony room!

It was so peaceful and beautiful!
Each morning we had a breakfast that was nothing short of extravagant!  I can't even list all of the delicious-ness!  It was INCREDIBLE!  I haven't ever eaten like that in my life!!

We spent out days looking at the house, gardens, winery, and even found time for golf and a few walks on the grounds!  This was Chris' first trip to the Biltmore and he loved it.  I loved rediscovering all over again in a very new way!  I had never experienced the Biltmore like this - we were absolutely pampered every where we went!  No waiting in line, every meal included and incredibly delicious and gourmet, and to top it all off the weather was PERFECTION!

I have never been to Biltmore in the spring.  We timed our trip perfect (inadvertently) and the tulips were at their peak!  Tulips are my favorite flowers and I was nothing short of speechless at the literal thousands of tulips in bloom and carefully planted in beautiful patterns and arrangements all over the estate!
We took a very long walk from the gardens to the bass pond.  I think I could spend all day walking around the estate.  Even the grounds that are more natural, like the woods, seem carefully placed and beautifully planned out for the perfect experience!
Here we are on the back porch of the Estate!  I can't even relate to living like George and Edith Vanderbilt in that amazing home, but staying and the Inn help imagine it!
Here Chris is in our room!
...and the two of us at the wine tasting!

I, of course, took lost of pictures....
...and my new husband drove me around and catered to my every wish!

It was the PERFECT honeymoon.
I loved every. single. second.

it sounds and looks amazing and I'm thinking you, me, and Mom need to save our pennies and do another girls trip there, in the springtime or fall, and totally pamper ourselves with some girltime and mother/daighter time! I loved that trip and your pictures make me want to go do it all again!
