Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

About a week in pictures...

I have been so incredibly busy with my wonderful life that I haven't had time to post! In a time saving effort for my (posting) and you (reading) I thought I'd recap with a few pictures and captions!

Wednesday and Thursday after work were spent primarily at the Hooper household! We are on a Wii kick! Every day is another challenge and lots a smack talk (which is REALLY funny coming from a 5 year old) - she is ALL ABOUT IT! We hear a lot of, "your goin' down!" and "Holla" LOL! Too. Much. Fun.
Thursday was an unexpected treat! Chris took me and Lily to Fuji! It's a favorite, but pricey so we don't go too often! Lily LOVED the chef's knife-twirling, egg-cracking, fire-lighting, spark-slinging skills! We enjoyed ourselves so much! Then I grabbed an ice cream treat and we enjoyed it on the patio!
Then came the rain.... and it rained and rained more than I have ever seen it rain! More than ever before on the TN record books. And it flooded, and flooded... more than I have ever seen it flood and more that ever before on the TN record books! Luckily my area was spared, but Chris and I spend the ENTIRE weekend snuggled up watching movies and ordering pizza!
...and then out came the sun and 80 degree weather for Monday and Tuesday... and 2 days off work to allow the area to soak in and dry out a little.

Then back to work and little Cinco De Mayo (sp?) night out with Chris, and lots of...
Cheer leading for the new school which started this week. Whew! Boy has that tied up a lot of time
!
Now, off to meet Chris and Little bit at Chilis!! :-) ...and a weekend including more Wii challenges (starting tonight) and the Jazz Fest and shopping with my mom and Mother's day!!! Have a nice night y'all, and enjoy your weekend!

I can't imagine where Lily got her competitive side from??? Vance is the same way and says things like, "I beat you!"

You always leave me breathless and exhausted after reading about all youve done in a few short days. Hope you and Mom are having a good time, and wish I was there!
