Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

Thanksgiving Day...

This year might be the best Thanksgiving I have ever had! I have so much to be thankful for!! The day dawned and I attempted to sleep as late as I could! When I awoke there were only two others awake in the house and they were hard at work...

Mom and Lily were cooking away in their PJ's making Sweet Potato Casserole to take to Thanksgiving at Mary Ann's! The rest of the house was sound asleep! You know my mom was tickled pink to have some quality time with Lily... she thinks the world of that little angel!!

After a relaxing morning laying around, playing, and eventually getting ready, we headed to my Aunt's (My Dad's sister) for Thanksgiving lunch!!! We had to pace ourselves, because we had to eat twice this year!

Here you see Lily, Ian, Elizabeth, and Bentlee at the kids table! They had SO MUCH FUN playing together! When we left, Lily wasn't just asking when she'd see B again, like usual, but she was also asking when she would see Elizabeth and if Bentlee would see Elizabeth before her! TOO. CUTE!
Here they are at the top of the stairs! They played upstairs for quite a while! They had so much fun! Ian was being goofy since he was totally outnumbered by the girls!

Every Thanksgiving we take family pictures, so of course I have some of those to share! Here are Sarah, Ken, Bentlee, and baby Stiner (due in June)!

My precious parents! I hope I am half as amazing as they are when I am able to be a parent!!

Lily loving on her Daddy! I am telling you, these two have a bond that is so precious! She is like a mini-version of her daddy in every way! I love it! I can't say enough about what an amazing father he is!!!

And, of course, all of us together! This was just before we hit the road to head back to Murfreesboro for our second meal!!!
Chris' family was kind enough to agree to put off their meal until 4:00 so that Chris and I could eat with both families! :-) I thought that was so generous because it kind of broke tradition! We headed back to Murfreesboro - me driving and Chris and Lily grabbing a nap! We stopped at his Aunt Jan and Uncle John's house to pick up some yummy food and visit for a bit before we headed out to Milton to his parents...

...and we ate all over again! It was a wonderful meal and evening of visiting! We even watched Christmas Vacation - my favorite Christmas movie - and all laughed about laughing about something we've seen so many times!!!!
Saturday we went back out to Chris' parents to help them decorate for Christmas... I was too busy helping to get any pictures though!
Overall it was a WONDERFUL, PEACEFUL, APPRECIATED break! I am thankful for family and my wonderful life! I hope your Thanksgiving was as amazing as mine!! :-)

Looks like you had a blast over Tgiving! I love that you always get pics of everyone - I need to do more of that. We had family here and I didn't get ONE picture of an adult! Ugh.
