Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

"Wine me up and watch me go!"

I saw that quote painted on a sign recently and although I didn't want to purchase the sign, it did make me chuckle! How true that is! :-) I thought it was a fitting title for this post because I am writing about two fun evenings I have had in the past week... one involving wining me up and one involving going (out with the girls)!

Last Friday night our new friends, Amanda and Patrick, went with us to Arrington Vineyards in Arrington, TN (just down the road between Murfreesboro and Franklin). We had so much fun! We had been planning our night for a while and weren't very excited when the day turned out to be RAINY!!!! However, we made the best of it! The guys took Amanda and I to bonefish! Mmmm... bang bang shrimp and pomegranate martini anyone? That is the only reason I ever go to Bonefish - those two menu items! I happened to also have the Lily's Chicken and Chris, Amanda, and Patrick all had steak. After dinner we headed to Arrington...

Above: Patrick and Amanda - they make the cutest couple! And you should see their new baby, John Beckett!! Below: All four of us at the tasting bar.
They let each guest have 6 pours so between the four of us and sharing a little here in there we all got to taste all the wines! My favorites included Red Fox Red which was a dry red with a long finish, comparable to a Pinot Noir. On the white side I liked their Chardonnay, although it had a very short finish. I also enjoyed their Viognier which was similar to a Sauvignon Blanc - and that was a perfect fit because Patrick's not a big wine drinker. We got a bottle ;enjoy while sitting on the coverend and enclosed deck with the hickory wood fire and jazz pianist playing! What fun! We also got a box of chocolate truffles and their Rasberry dessert wine! It was incredible (and I don't like dessert wine)! Perfect harmony between the wine and chocolate! I highly recommend this for a dessert course at your next dinner party! It'll sure have everyone talking!
Overall, even though the night was messy, the company and the place were great! We had fun and decided to try to do it more often! We want to go back on a pretty day and picnic on the grounds! It's a BEAUTIFUL place!
The other fun thing I did (and the "go" part of my post) was go out with the girls! :-) Me, Lauren, Megan, Lena, Betsy, and Courtney all met at Newks for dinner and then headed to the pottery place to paint and gab and laugh and catch up! It's funny... it took us 2 months (literally) to get together! We set the day weeks ago! I guess when you get 6 ladies with VERY busy schedules, throw in some husbands and kids, jobs, and other obligations it's HARD to find a free night that fits into everyone's schedule!

Here we all are! Because there were six of us we painted in the "party" area! It was fun to have that little area to ourselves! Let me tell you... these are some creative ladies!

I had to include this picture of Megan, Courtney, and Lena because I thought it was so cute! We really had the best time laughing and all catching up! We can't wait to get together again SOON! :-) Hopefully next time we won't be on a two-month waiting period!

That all looks like a great way to spend time! I still havn't got to paint pottery. Found a place in Billings and I'm almost considering just going bymyself just so I can do it.
The Winery sounded really nice. And I've never eaten at Bonefish, but I've heard it good...pricy...but good.
Glad you had such a good time getting wined up and going!
