"Hey! Hey you.....
...You know what to do!
You gotta ROCK with the YELLOW
and JAM with the GREEN!"
"Noise, Noise,
Let's make some noise!
You can't be a Jacket
If you don't make NOISE!"
Lily is enjoying her second season of being a middle school cheerleader! lol
One of the perks of being tight with the cheerleading coach! ;-)
She knows all the cheers and all the cheerleaders and even has a matching uniform!
It's fun to go to games with her! She knows so many people from our school... kids and players and cheerleaders from past years and their parents, all the faculty and staff! She's like a little superstar!
Grandmommy and Papaw came to one of our last football games - our homecoming game! It was so fun to show them what Chris and I have worked so hard on with the football team and cheerleaders!
This one is a Daddy's girl!
She reminds me so much of the little girl on Remember the Titans! She is such a little gym rat going to open gym, football and basketball practice, and cheerleading practice! And....? SHE LOVES IT! We miss our old school, but I think we all three agree that it's great to be a Yellow Jacket!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Top Ten: School/Office Supplies
Tis the season to return to work/school.
You all know I teach (and love it), so I thought I would share ten items that I couldn't live without! I love school supplies! I could spend my life's savings at Office Max in the blink of an eye. Here are my ten favorites that I just couldn't do without:
Sharpies!
I like them big, I like them small
I like them bold, I like them all!
Post-It Tabs
I use these in my books, notebooks, everywhere!
So handy!
Pop-Up Post Its
AND
Pop-Up Post It Dispenser
I will never not have one of these loaded and ready on my desk!
I don't even want to know how many post-it's I use in a day.
(not very green, but I just can't live without them!)
Paperclips.
I prefer staples, but when you have a stack of papers just too thick... you gotta have a good paperclip. I am funny about my paperclips. I despise colored, plastic, or plastic coated paperclips! I like plain silver or gold, standard sized paper clips. (weird, I know.)
Heavy Duty 3-Hole Hole Punch
Not electric, Not Small.
Notebooks!
I am a notebook addict.
I organize EVERYTHING in notebooks!
Unit plans, lesson plans, meeting notes, etc.
My preference: Pretty Black & White
File Folders!
(Have you picked up on the fact that I am organized yet?)
I like plain, standard file folders for my filing cabinet.
I like black and white {pretty} file folders for the file holder on my desk!
(Matchy-Matchy - yay!)
Expo Markers!
I like standard sized - not super thick or thin.
I use all the colors except brown, yellow, maroon, and hunter green. Why? Well, Yellow doesn't show up, brown isn't pretty, and maroon and hunter green seem to be hard to erase (maybe it's my imagination, lol).
White Out Tape
NEVER again will I use a bottle of "liquid paper."
I LOVE my white out tape.
No more waiting for something to dry!
Pilot G2 Pens
Blue or Black only.
Must have a clicky top! :-)
There you have it! 10 office supply items that I can't teach live without!
What items do you have in your classroom, home, or office that you can't live without?

After Shots...
As most of you know, I have been hard at work setting up my new classroom! It's been a unique challenge because the building is still being completed. I have been working around construction workers and contractors and electricians and, well, you get the point! We only had 3 designated days to set up as much as we could and can't get back into the building until the day before the ribbon cutting! Keep in mind that this isn't the finished product! I got as much done as I could - all my things put away, furniture set up, etc.. - but I haven't finished "decorating" (my least favorite part). I don't like cluttered walls and bulletin boards, so I always have a hard time decorating my room with posters and things! lol. Okay, here it is so far:
This is the view from the back of my classroom looking toward the front. The lectern is on wheels so I can roll it wherever I want to teach from.
This is the view from my desk. There is a book shelf in the corner in the back left side of the room and that is where my exterior door is. Check out the new computers! That's it! The "computer" and "monitor" are all-in-one and will be wireless! Yay!
This is a view of my desk area. I am standing by my exterior door in front of the book shelf.
A view of my classroom from the same corner.
This is the view when you enter my room from the hallway. You see my desk on the far left and the book shelf on the far right.
Another view from that side of the room.
I have this wonderful area in my room! A large storage closet that I share with my friend LaToya who teaches math, and cabinets, counter space, and a sink!
Needless to say, this is much nicer than anything I have ever had to teach in! :-) It is big and beautiful and new! Every classroom comes equipped with a ceiling mounted projector and interwrite board. We will have so much technology! I just can't wait to get started!!!

Before Shots...
Yesterday began move in day 1 at my brand spakin' new school!
I was giddy as I drove up with my car loaded down with school supplies and everything neatly boxed from my classroom! I was so excited about getting in my room and setting up shop! I couldn't wait to put my pencils and pens in my desk and to arrange all my things in the cabinets and set up my room arrangement with my student desks!
And then I walked in to this lovely Scene.
.BOXES.
{and boxes}
So it wasn't exactly what I expected! I spend most of the day (with the help of some of the staff and a couple fellow teachers) moving boxes of books to their correct location. Turns out that since I am the first classroom in the 7th grade hall, that is where they stacked up all the 7th grade books for each subject! (Makes sense.) So... now everything is out of the way and today I can begin setting up! I'll post some pictures tomorrow of my progress!
