Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

A visit with Pap and Mimi

I have been so terribly busy and behind on blogging, among other things!  It seems like after I finish (or attempt to finish) all the have-to-get-dones, there isn't a lot of time left for the want-to-get-dones!  Just the other day I was saying to Mom, there is so much I want to do!  Every time I find time to do something one my "fun" list, something else falls off and doesn't get done!  :-)

Anyway, I have had this blog post sitting and waiting for me to just hop on and hit post!  It's from a few weeks ago, but I still wanted to share it!

We visited Chris' parents a few weeks ago while Pap (Chris' Dad) was still in rehab after recently being discharged from the hospital after a bad fall.  Thankfully he is now back home and better than ever, but while at rehab we paid a few visits to catch up, have a bite, or just hang out!
Lily sure does love her Mimi and Pap!  :-)

I think it was fun and an "adventure" to visit them at Pap's temporary home!  :-)

Lily loves being Silly and while visiting we had lots of laughs!
She took Kit's (one of her American Girl's) magnetic bracelets and turned it into an earring for Pap!

...and for Ava Grace...
...and for her Daddy!  :-)

She's so funny!
We are all so blessed to have these girls in our lives!

And the girls (and Chris and I) are so blessed to have Mimi and Pap!

I'm so glad Chris's dad recovered and is home again! Looks like the girls enjoyed their visits, and I'm sure the grandparents did too! Been missing your posts but I know how busy you are! Love you!
