Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

You asked for it...

I haven't posted any belly pictures because I really haven't had enough belly to show! lol!  With only 3 pounds total weight gain, it's really been hard for anyone to tell I was expecting, even at 21 weeks along!  But, alas, you keep asking for belly pics... I guess everyone loves a baby bump, and our wild baby girl aims to please.  This week I have noticed my belly expanding.  So without any further delay... here I am at week 4 (at this point I just felt bloated)...

...and here I am week 21, as the bump slowly emerges...

Sorry for the self-photo quality, lol.  :-)

Our baby girl is a wild one.  She moves all day, every day!  If I sit still for a few moments, she starts having a little private party in my belly!  Maybe she's cramped? lol.

Only one Friday photo this week.  It's been a BUSY week with many trips to Nashville for a sick family member.  There hasn't been a lot of time to blogging.  Here is the only photo I took this week...

My prince charming brought be flowers!  I was having "a day."  The door bell rang at an odd time and when I went to the door (cautiously and curious), there he was!  All dressed up, holding roses, and asking me out on a date.  I love this man!  He turned a kind of unpleasant day into one of the most fun and memorable.  Did I mention how much I love him?  He's truly is a WONDERFUL husband and a romantic at heart!  :-)  I'm so blessed!

Happy weekend y'all!  It's sure to be LONG and FUN!
