Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

Monday, Sunday

This morning I returned from my big 4th weekend! I returned to hugs and kisses and enthusiasm - Nothing better. Well, nothing better, except when Lily cuddled up next to me on the couch, wrapped her arms around me, looked up and said, "I just love my Meagan so much! I can't stop hugging you!" Could she BE any more adorable? I think not! Plus while I was gone she and her daddy called to tell me they missed me, loved me, and to talk to everyone in C-town! Too. Sweet. So today, I came back missing them both and tying for some fun play time, and that is just what I got! Chris went to play golf for a little while and Mac and I are having a blast!

We beaded! Thank you Sarah for the beads - they were so much fun and we are already making plans to do some gifts...
For today, we made a lovely bracelet! We have also watched a Scooby Doo, had lunch of fried balogna (un-fried for Lily) sandwiches and apples, played YMCA, picked up our toys, played Littlest Pet Shop on the Wii, and now we are chillaxin on the couch 'til we dream up the next big thing to do! :-) Lily keeps me so young at heart!

Most of the weekend I was so busy having fun and playing here (above) that I didn't take many pictures! It was WONDERFUl to get some quality time with my family! I especially enjoyed hanging out and swimming with Bentlee and holding Kenslee and, of course, the highlight was hanging out with my sister!!!

Bentlee is a little water bug just like I was at her age (and still am)! She is swimming like a champ this year - all on her own, from one end to the other! She does an adult free-style like stroke this year instead of the good 'ole dog paddle! She has also mastered jumping off the diving board complete with twists, turns, and cannon balls!

Overall it was a WONDERFUL weekend! (Check out my new beach towel - loving it!!)
