Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

Before Shots...

Yesterday began move in day 1 at my brand spakin' new school!
I was giddy as I drove up with my car loaded down with school supplies and everything neatly boxed from my classroom!  I was so excited about getting in my room and setting up shop!  I couldn't wait to put my pencils and pens in my desk and to arrange all my things in the cabinets and set up my room arrangement with my student desks!
And then I walked in to this lovely Scene.
.BOXES.
{and boxes}

So it wasn't exactly what I expected!  I spend most of the day (with the help of some of the staff and a couple fellow teachers) moving boxes of books to their correct location.  Turns out that since I am the first  classroom in the 7th grade hall, that is where they stacked up all the 7th grade books for each subject!  (Makes sense.)  So... now everything is out of the way and today I can begin setting up!  I'll post some pictures tomorrow of my progress!

that would have been very discouraging to me, but how nice that others were willing to lend a hand to get them out. AND...hard to be upset about NEW textbooks!
I like the way your room looks! Nice big windows. What are the school colors? Having slightly envious feelings about getting to be in a new school and all that. I'll just have to enjoy it through your blog!

Oh, I'm a little jealous! The first of school before the kids get there and organizing and rearranging everything is my FAVORITE time of the year!! Pretty sick that I love organizing that much. I can't wait to see after pictures!
