Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

How sweet it is to be loved by you...

Happy Valentines (one day late) to everyone! I hope you all had a relaxing and wonderful Valentine's day with your loved one(s)! I know I sure did!

Chris is traditionally anti-Valentine's day... he believes you should be sweet all year round! He also has had some pretty negative Valentine's day experiences in the past. So we mixed it up a bit this year and made the holiday fit us! :-)

Lily spent the night with her grandparents Saturday night so we could have our Valentine's day celebration earlier in the day to beat the crowds! Because our plan was to celebrate in the morning with just the two of us and in the afternoon with Lily, we skipped church. We enjoyed a very lazy and relaxing morning! Chris gave me a wonderful massage and then took me out to lunch! It was a great way to start the day!

After lunch, we went to Chris' parents house and had a good long visit! Then we headed to Beth's where Lily made Chris and I candy apples for V-day! :-) That was fun! And then we headed home to just enjoy the rest of the day! Lily made me THE most adorable and SWEETEST Valentine's day cards! Now that she can write, it is amazing how she expresses herself! My card told me how much she loved me and why - priceless! Her card to her daddy was JUST as PRECIOUS! She is such a kind-hearted little girl! :-)

Unfortunately Valentine's day ended on a sour note for me! I have come down with the stomach bug that the Hutching's had last week! And if I had any doubts about how miserable it was (which I didn't), I certainly don't anymore! lol.

I hope you all had a magical day full of love! I can't wait to read and hear about all the special Valentine's day memories!!!
