Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

Word to Snow Bird...

Well we have now had our first snow day of the year! (And, as it is Friday morning... I am starting snow day 2 of the year! lol) In true TN fashion we freaked out over a few flurries and a dusting of snow, raided the grocery stores, cancelled school and anxiously awaited the white stuff!!!! We really only got a dusting... maybe an inch if that, but it is bitterly cold and the roads did get very slick. Here are a few shots of yesterdays fun...

Busting dad with a snowball!
Lovin'

Fun with Daddy never ends!
Snow angels, Snow ball fights, singin' in the snow, and a cold kiss!

And the best we could do for a snow man!
Overall we had a wonderful day! I cooked a HUGE breakfast with my assistant Chef Lily who LOVES to help in the kitchen! She is an excellent egg cracker, biscuit placer, table setter, stirrer, and drink order getter! :-) We strapped on our aprons and had a blast! Biscuits, eggs, home fries, pancakes, fresh fruit, bacon, and sausage gravy! MMMMMmmmmm!
After breakfast came the game playing, tv watching, couch snuggling, pj kind of day that makes everyone happy! Then FINALLY it started snowing and snowed heavy enough to coat the ground good enough to play so we bundled up and gave it a go and had a blast!
If you are anywhere near, I hope you are enjoying your snow days too! And for those of you not near and further north (Lindsay, lol) don't make fun of our HUGE deal and 2 DAYS of the WORLD STOPPING for a whole inch of snow! :-) That's how we roll down here in the south!

That is exactly how we roll in AR for sure. At least you got a little white stuff. We got NADA! I mean nothing! School was still out though. LOL! I think about you TN girls are the time. I miss you terribly and hate that life is so busy because I would love to make another trip to the Boro! Love and hugs to you. You and Chris just look so happy (and so does Lily). Makes my heart happy!

Nothing wrong with rollin that way either. In fact, I'll admit that I miss the days when snow was a novelty and somethign to get excited about instead of an inconvenience and wishing it would just melt. Not to say I don't enjoy it, and relish teh beauty, but some of the novelty is gone now.

HA! They closed stuff down for that sprinkling of snow?! You guys would never survive up here! LOL! I LOVE that mini-snowman. Classic, yet adorable. :-)

Lindsay is right...we would never survive :).

I am so glad that we got enough snow to get out and play. Those pj types of days are the BEST!
