Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

Six Degrees of Randomness

Hey! I have been tagged by Lindsay to share six random things about myself...

1. I LOVE to organize things and information. One of my favorite things to do is to create forms, letters, etc. This is really convenient in the teaching profession!

2. I like to drive in bare feet! Unless my shoes are zipped up to my knee (you know, fall and winter super-cute fun and sexy boots) then you can bet I am driving in my bare feet!

3. I can't stand to listen to people chew. I am not just talking about smacking or chewing with your mouth open - although that is the most offensive. It also REALLY bothers me when someone in the room is munching on something and it's really quiet and I can hear them chewing!

4. It drives me crazy when someone wants to ask me a question, but instead of just asking they launch into a huge, long, detailed story. This is ironic, however, because I am bad about doing this! I am a details person, but if I am working - out with it! Just ask or tell and be done, I don't need the background!

5. I am not a big fan of underwear! lol. (Might cross in to the too much information category here, but I figure most of you already know and it is a pretty random thing!) I sleep in it (and like it to match my top) and there are obviously times and situations that require it, but in general I would rather go without! No muss, no fuss, no lines!! Bra's on the other hand I won't go without... I take it off at the last second at night and it's the fist thing I put on the morning! (I wonder if this is indicative of some strange personality quirk?)

6. I don't like washing my hands in public restrooms. It bothers me (this probably has A LOT to do with being a teacher and knowing the inventive things kids can do with soap dispensers, sinks, etc). Needless to say, I use A LOT of hand sanitizer!

Well, there you go... that's about as random as it can get!

NOW, I would like to tag:
Lauren
Megan
Leigh Ann

Betsy
Sarah

Thanks for the tag. I need to start thinking about my list. This should be easy for me since it seems most of my thought processes are extremely random these days. Ha! I could definitely relate to several of yours (no surprise). I'm with you on #1, and hearing people chew, especially ice, drives me nuts! Oh, and on #4 I used to work with this girl that I literally had to tell her I needed the "Reader's Digest" version. LOL! She wasn't offended and it worked. Otherwise she would have been there all day and night! I use a TON of hand sanitizer, too. I don't have any idea what I did before it came out, especially with kids. We are NOT alike on #5. Hee hee hee. I'm not a fan of going comando, but you go, girl! Hee hee hee!

what do you do if you only know three people with a blog and one of those is the one that tagged you?

You are still the only person I know who drives with bare feet! TOTALLY FEELING YOU on the hearing people eat thing...especially ice...and BREATHING with their mouth open...ICK!!

Amen on the chewing thing, sister! and what is up with the way people ask questions? What really drives me nuts is when someone says,"Can I ask you a question?" Aren't you ALREADY asking a question when you ask if you may ask one? Just DO IT already!!!!!

Ha! I LOVE to drive with bare feet too! My mom once told me it was illegal so I quit for a while but I do it ALL the time. That and I like to put my left foot on the seat while I drive too (yup, I'm short).

and oh my - how did you figure out you had strep with two negative cultures?! I'm seriously thinking I still have it....but whatever. Ugh.
