Tyson Hugh Hooper

Tyson Hugh Hooper
Our son, Tyson Hugh Hooper, was born with coarctation of the aorta, hypoplastic arch, and a transitional avsd. His first open heart surgery reconstructed his aorta and was on day 9 of life. His second open heart repair was not anticipated to be needed until two or three years of age. Ty had other plans. We spent the vast majority of his first 3 months of life at Vanderbilt as he went into heart failure and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. As a result, the medical team concluded that he needed the repair much sooner than usually recommended, and at just shy of 3 months old Ty underwent his second life saving open heart surgery. God has already worked so many miracles in Ty's life and the life of our family and we know he is using our story. Because of this, we are grateful for Ty's special heart and feel beyond blessed that God chose us to travel this road. We ask for prayers as Ty continues to heal. We are praying for a full recovery and life without restrictions for Ty. We are praying for God to use our family and Ty for His glory.

Thank you to each and every person who supports us through prayer, giving, or just by loving on our family! We are humbled and blessed by all of the ways the Lord is providing for us and know that he is using Ty and his story to do great things!

Blogging Germs???

I think I caught Lindsay's funk! Is it possible to catch something from miles and miles and states and states away through the blogging circuit??? I read about Lindsay's trip to the clinic and the next thing I know I am waking up this morning with a scratchy throat and a sniffly nose! ha!

Okay, so I know I really didn't catch it through cyberspace... more likely? A little runny nosed kiddie in my classroom (there are only about 130 of them)! :-) Apparently hand sanitiser and Clorox wipes only go so far! It would seem "the funk" is going around! Last weekend, of course, you remember the stomach funk incident. And now, just in time for the weekend again, the sniffles! Ah, the life of a teacher! Gotta love it! It seems to go in cycles, like every other year I catch a lot of stuff and then in-between years I go germ free! Odd.

Okay seriously though, this has been the busiest week! With several outings, a cheer clinic, cheer tryouts, a new student teacher, and the regular hoopla at school it's no wonder I've been knocked on my behind by a germ or two! Unfortunately I have a busy busy weekend ahead too! So... all that said, and this may be a little selfish with all the great big needs and requests out there... but I would seriously appreciate you blogging beauties lifting up a little word of prayer that with some rest tonight and some Vitamin C I will be feeling better in the AM!

Tune in tomorrow for an update for sure! As you know football season is upon us and tomorrow, Ladies and Gentlemen, is my first Fantasy Football draft of the season and I could not be more excited! Not even this little bug I have come down with can get me down - I have been waiting and waiting for the day to arrive and tomorrow's it!! I'll be so excited tomorrow night to share with you who I ended up getting at the draft and I'll share more details then! Yay!

Well, as it is Friday evening and I am a little on the un-well side, I think I am going to grab some juice, a box of Kleenex, and head to the couch for some much needed rest!

Sorry I spread my germs to you! I wasn't going to tell you this, but since you got "my" germs, they hang around for a good 8-9 days. Good luck with that....yikes.

I imagine I'll be sick more often once the kidlets start school too huh? Great...

I can't believe you have all that stuff going on - slow down! I'll be praying for your health...and sainity.
